Our Calling as Missionaries
On Wednesday, December 12, 2011, we received our calling to serve an 18-month mission in the Madrid Spain Temple. We will enter the Provo Missionary Training Center on April 30, 2012. The 4½-month wait before becoming full-time missionaries is due to the time required to secure a Spanish visa to live in the country. The wait would have been even longer, but we had already received an FBI clearance prior to receiving our call. Obtaining the clearance, which is required by the Spanish consulate for a resident visa, can take two to six months.
We will spend two weeks at the MTC, the first week to focus on Preach My Gospel and the second week to focus on temple training.
We feel deeply blessed to receiving this calling. We love our current calling as ordinance workers in the Mount Timpanogos Temple and look forward to serving in the temple five days a week in Spain. We loved our first mission (Peru Lima East) and know that we will equally love this mission.
